Charging at home
Charging your electric vehicle at home is made simple with the compact and portable 2-in-1 Mobile EV Charge Cable, capable of charging from standard 120v household outlets (approx. 1.2kW for about 3 miles per hour), or 240v outlets for quicker charging (approx. 7.2 kW for about 18 to 20 miles per hour). The 2-in-1 cable can be secured to your garage wall with the included bracket. Available from the VW Parts and Accessories Store, you may also inquire with your dealer if the if the Volkswagen EV model you are interested in comes equipped with a charge cable already.

Charging at Electrify America
Included DC fast charging plans
In partnership with Electrify America, VW is proud to offer included charging plans to help EV drivers focus on the roads and possibilities ahead.
Available plans, which vary by model year, include:
- 2024-2025 model year vehicles: includes a 3-year Electrify America Pass+ membership with Plug&Charge and 500 kWh of charging included. Pass+ members save about 25% compared to the Electrify America Guest and Pass member base charging rate. Learn how to enroll here.
- 2023 model year vehicles: includes 3 years of 30-minute complimentary charging at Electrify America DC fast charging stations and access to Plug&Charge. Once activated, Plug&Charge allows you to plug your vehicle in and start charging without opening an app. Learn how to enroll here.
- 2022 model year vehicles: includes 3 years unlimited 30-minute charging sessions at Electrify America DC Fast Chargers
- 2021 model year vehicles: includes 3 years unlimited charging at Electrify America DC Fast Chargers
Charging at a Tesla Supercharger with a NACS DC adapter
Volkswagen ID.4 and ID. Buzz drivers can tap into the expansive Tesla Supercharger network when using a North American Charging System (NACS) DC adapter. Check the links below to purchase an adapter and learn more about how to charge at a Tesla Supercharger with an adapter.

Download the Electrify America mobile app
With a subscription, the Electrify America app lets you easily find and use charging stations for your EV. You can start and stop your charging session, track your charging status, and pay contact-free from your phone. The app also offers real-time charger locations, availability, and the option to save your preferred stations.
Download the Tesla app
Download the Tesla app to find compatible Tesla Superchargers. You can also manage charge session initiation, add a payment method and your vehicle details.
