Championing change

We engage with communities around the country to enhance the lives of those who shape their stories.

That’s why we take our inspiration from real people and real communities, celebrating individuality while asking — what can we do to enhance the lives of the people who help shape our story? After all, it takes drive to make change.

Putting Community First

We believe the most important thing about a Volkswagen is who’s in it. Whether it’s our loyal enthusiasts or a first-time VW owner, the heartbeat of our brand is our community on four wheels. That’s why we focus on the things that make our communities tick, like taking actions to build a more sustainable future, and partnerships that bring our drivers closer to the experiences they love.

Redwood Materials partnership

To make the batteries that power electric vehicles more sustainable, we need to work toward closing the loop at the end of their life. That’s why Volkswagen is collaborating with Redwood Materials to work toward creating a circular supply chain for EV batteries. With Redwood’s help, end-of-life batteries from VW’s electric vehicles will be able to be recycled and refined into critical components that can be used by battery manufacturers in new batteries.

Connections, celebration and shared love for the VW brand are abundant every year at AVF, an enthusiast event held in the quiet southern town of Helen, GA. This gathering of Volkswagen’s most passionate enthusiasts highlights why the VW community is so special, as owners travel from across the country to share their vehicles and the stories that make them uniquely Volkswagen. We wouldn’t be the brand we are today without the passion and dedication of our owners.

Moving Your World Forward

To improve the paradigm of individual mobility for all, we think people are a good place to start. Our community initiatives are built to celebrate and serve every lifestyle, whether through our partnership with U.S. Soccer’s Extended National Teams, or by collaborating with artists and thought leaders from a diverse spectrum of backgrounds and communities. We’re sort of the “people’s people,” you know?

Electrifying Connections

This Cinco de Mayo, Volkswagen teamed up with two Hispanic artists to create a set of unique wrap designs for the all‑electric ID.4. Denver artist Tony Ortega embraced the unique identity of his hometown, translating its Latin iconography into his impressionistic artwork that celebrates the strength and diversity of community. Artist, muralist and Pilsen, IL native Salvador Vega leaned into the all‑electric power of the ID.4 to inspire his traditional Mexican designs of transformation and movement, using the vibrant color palette his neighborhood murals have made him famous for.

Sparking Love for The Game

As presenting partner of U.S. Soccer, Volkswagen aims to enhance the fan experience by making the game even more electric. In our most recent “Home of Soccer” campaign, VW partnered with Hispanic illustrator Diego Patino to create a custom ID.4 wrap representing the different expressions of fandom and cultural backgrounds that define the game of soccer in the U.S.  The final design was most recently featured on an actual ID.4 and displayed at two U.S. Men’s National Team matches ahead of the Big Tournament.
