When you charge the 2023 ID.4 SUV at an Electrify America DC fast charging station with Plug&Charge⁠, you can skip selecting the station location and charger number in the app in order to initiate charging. In fact, you won’t need the app at all to start charging because the Electrify America charging plan⁠ included with your 2023 ID.4 SUV comes with the convenience of Plug&Charge.

Activating Plug&Charge

By activating Plug&Charge in the Electrify America app, you can save time when charging—simply plug in your ID.4 SUV at an Electrify America DC fast charging station, and once the connection is established, it will start charging. It’s as simple as that.

  • Not enrolled with Electrify America

    If you haven’t downloaded the Electrify America app or enrolled in the included charging plan for your 2023 ID.4 EV, here’s how to activate Plug&Charge:

    Electrify America enrollment

    • Follow general enrollment instructions from the link above
    • An “Activate Plug&Charge” screen will appear after you set up payment for any idle fees or taxes you may incur
    • Tap the green “Activate Plug&Charge” button and tap “OK”

  • Already enrolled with Electrify America

    If you’ve already downloaded the Electrify America app and are currently enrolled in the included charging plan⁠ for your 2023 ID.4 SUV, here’s how to activate Plug&Charge⁠:

    • Open the Electrify America app
    • Tap “Account” in the lower right of the app screen
    • Tap “Plans” and then “2023 ID.4 Charging Plan”
    • Scroll down to the Plug&Charge section and tap “Activate now”
    • Tap the green “Activate Plug&Charge” button and tap “OK”

Charging with Plug&Charge

One-time activation in the Electrify America app is needed before proceeding. Note: Plug&Charge feature deactivates with the expiry of your included 3-year charging plan benefit, which begins upon purchase of a new, unused 2023 ID.4 EV.

Pull up to an available charger at a DC fast charging station and park.

Plug your vehicle in

Plug the charging connector into your 2023 VW ID.4 EV and wait for the vehicle-charger connection to be established.
