    Hotspot

The information within this guide must be used in conjunction with the information in the Volkswagen Owner’s Manual. You should refer to your vehicle’s Owner’s Manual and Infotainment Supplement for all information, warnings, and feature limitations. Always pay careful attention to the road and do not drive while distracted. Some Infotainment features can only be accessed and operated when the vehicle is standing still.

    1. Digital Cockpit

The secondary display can be selected and configured using the horizontal menu buttons , along with the vertical arrow buttons on the right-side steering wheel controls.

    2. Head-Up Display (not shown)
The Head-up display projects selected information onto the windshield in the driver’s field of view, such as the current speed limit, vehicle speed, and the actions of driver assistance systems. To turn the system on from the Infotainment: select Vehicle menu > vehicle (left hand side) > Interior > Head-up display > toggle Head-up display to Active.

    Voice Control

IDA – Voice Assistant via Volkswagen Infotainment

Many functions of the Golf—including the navigation, climate control, media, and telephone—can be controlled using IDA, your built-in voice assistant. IDA can be launched using the Talk button on the multi-function steering wheel or by using the wake word, “Hello Volkswagen,” similar to how you would activate a virtual assistant at home.

To enable activation of IDA by voice:

    1. Open the App Menu on the touchscreen and then select IDA.

    2. Tap Activation.

Here, you can toggle the ability to activate IDA by voice. You can also enable or disable the additional wake words “Hello IDA” and “Hello ID.” and even create your own wake word by pressing the microphone or keyboard icons.

To launch IDA with the multifunction steering wheel button:

    • A short press of the Talk button will launch IDA.
    • A long press of the Talk button will launch the digital assistant of a connected compatible mobile device.

A variety of voice prompts are available depending on which language has been set in the Infotainment system, and whether there is an active myVW account for the vehicle. For full details and a list of compatible languages, please refer to the owner’s manual.

A list of example prompts can also be found in the IDA app under Tips in the left navigation bar.

    Cancel Active Voice Control

When IDA is activated, press the Talk button on the multi-function steering wheel or say “Cancel.”
