Volkswagen Service+ Program Terms and Conditions
Program eligibility:
Volkswagen customers who complete a "Qualifying Service" at a VW Service+ Program enrolled dealer on or after program start date of June 3, 2024 (dealer start date may vary based on dealer enrollment, see dealer site for specific start date), and own or lease an Eligible Vehicle qualify for the VW Service+ Program.
A “Qualifying Service” is one of the following: (1) an oil change, (2) a factory-recommended service or (3) a VW Care Prepaid Maintenance service. A service covered by the Volkswagen Carefree Maintenance Program (the 1 year/10,000 mile service or the 2 year/20,000 mile service) is not considered a Qualifying Service.
An “Eligible Vehicle” is a Volkswagen passenger gasoline-powered vehicle that has been in service for over two years or 20,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Electric vehicles are not eligible for the VW Service+ Program.
What the program covers:
The VW Service+ Program offers towing coverage for a 12-month period to the nearest VW dealership in the event your vehicle is rendered inoperable due to: (1) a mechanical breakdown or (2) a flat tire if the vehicle is not equipped with a spare tire.
The customer will not be able to select their preferred dealership. If covered, the vehicle will be towed to the nearest authorized VW dealership at the time of the request.
The VW Service+ Program coverage will be tied to the VIN that received the Qualifying Service; this coverage is not transferable.
When does coverage begin?
The 12 months of towing coverage begins on either: (1) the date of completion of a Qualifying Service or (2) the expiration of Roadside Assistance coverage, whichever occurs later. If, after VW Service+ coverage begins, another Qualifying Service is completed, the 12-month coverage period will restart and the remainder of your previous 12-month coverage period will not carry over. If after your initial VW Service+ coverage expires, another Qualifying Service is completed, a new 12-month coverage period will begin.
If a vehicle is still eligible for the Roadside Assistance program (3 years or 36,000 miles from new vehicle in-service date (whichever occurs first) or 2 years or 24,000 miles from Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle in-service date (whichever occurs first)), the 12 months of VW Service+ Program towing coverage will begin after your Roadside Assistance coverage expires.
Example 1: if you have a vehicle that is at 30,000 miles with 6 months of Roadside Assistance coverage left and you complete a Qualifying Service, your 12 months of VW Service+ Program coverage will begin immediately after the expiration of your Roadside Assistance coverage.
Example 2: if you get your 20,000 mile Volkswagen Carefree Maintenance service done on your vehicle, you are not eligible for the VW Service+ Program towing coverage. A service covered by the Volkswagen Carefree Maintenance Program (the 1 year/10,000 mile service or the 2 year/20,000 mile service) is not considered a Qualifying Service. This is true even if the vehicle has been in service over 2 years or 20,000 miles.
Example 3: if you have a CPO vehicle that is at 50,000 miles with 8 months of Roadside Assistance coverage left and you complete a Qualifying Service, your 12 months of VW Service+ Program coverage will begin immediately after the expiration of your Roadside Assistance coverage.

If your vehicle becomes disabled and inoperable due to a mechanical breakdown or a flat tire where the vehicle is not equipped with a spare tire, complimentary towing to the nearest VW dealership will be provided. Winching/ extrication services may be provided for vehicles within 15 feet of a paved public road only when performed in conjunction with a tow. Please note, for security reasons, towing service will not be provided to unattended vehicles – a licensed driver must accompany the vehicle at the time of towing service.
