Routan Customer Information

1. Why is VW not selling a 2013 model year Routan?
Based on the current sales rate, we have sufficient stock and orders placed for the 2012 model year to ensure our customer needs are met. We are keeping our options open for the 2014 model year Routan.

2. How will this impact me?
The decision not to sell a 2013 model year Routan should have no impact on our current or future Routan customers. Through our extensive network of authorized Volkswagen dealers, we will continue to provide parts and service for Routan owners. There will be no change to the new vehicle limited warranties applicable to your Routan, which will continue to be honored in accordance with their terms.*

3. Will you replace the Routan with another minivan or a seven passenger alternative?
We are weighing our options and are examining seven passenger alternatives that would allow us to offer our customers a unique vehicle that more closely aligns with our brand DNA.

4. Will you still honor my Warranty and Carefree Maintenance?
Through our extensive network of authorized Volkswagen dealers, we will continue to provide parts and service for Routan owners. There will be no change to the new vehicle limited warranties applicable to your Routan, which will continue to be honored in accordance with their terms.* And scheduled Carefree Maintenance® will be offered for the first 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever occurs first) for each Routan.**

5. If I'm waiting for a Routan delivery, will my order be cancelled?
No, all existing customer orders for Routan models will be honored.

6. Will there be special offers on the current Routan?
As part of our ongoing business review, we will evaluate the need for special offers on a case-by-case basis. At this point, no special actions are planned.

7. Can I get out of my Routan lease for another VW vehicle?
As always, this will be between the VW dealer and the customer: our goal is to ensure we put the customer’s needs first.

8. Will my dealer be able to service and repair my Routan?
Yes, through our extensive network of authorized Volkswagen dealers, we will continue to provide parts and service to our Routan owners.

9. How will this impact the residual value of my Routan?
The Routan was originally planned to run through the 2013 model year. We do not expect this decision to have a significant impact on the vehicle’s residual value.
