Not only does the Touareg have the world’s first supercharged hybrid powertrain, it packs a powerful punch with a combined output of 380 hp and 428 lbs/ft of torque. And when it’s traveling at autobahn speeds, the engine can switch off and the Touareg can coast without using fuel. Which is what the Volkswagen engineers call “sailing,” and what the planet calls “breathing easier.”
