Rear fully independent four-link suspension with coil springs, telescopic shock absorbers and stabilizer bar
We wanted to give Golf drivers the smoothest drive possible. Then we ran into a bump in the road. A pothole, actually. So we designed every Golf with 4-corner independent suspension. Each wheel pivots separately, so a bump in the road for one wheel has little effect on the others. It also means that all those little inconsistencies in the road will have less of an impact on you, your passengers, and the way your Golf handles. kbb.com affirms, “Thanks to the Golf’s Euro-tuned suspension, which is firmed up even more on the TDI, sharp turns were conquered with little fuss while bumps and road blemishes were absorbed as easily as a sponge soaks up a spill.” —kbb.com¹ Turns out, a bump in the road doesn’t have to feel like a bump in the road.
