DSG® performance transmission¹
The available DSG transmission on the Beetle comes with super-sleek paddle shifters that transfer power between two mechanically actuated clutches and row through its sequential gear set, helping provide seamless acceleration and imperceptibly fast gear changes. That’s kind of a mouthful, but you’ll love every minute of it. And because there is minimal loss of rpm during gear changes, the DSG transmission can use as much as 20% less fuel² than conventional automatics and 10% less than conventional manual models in tests under everyday conditions.
